DIKEMARKFESTIVALEN

28.8 - 30.8.2025

The Dikemark Festival is a multidisciplinary arts festival that takes place at the former psychiatric hospital in Dikemark, Asker. The location itself carries layers upon layers of stories, memories, and human experiences.

In the midst of this charged and historical setting, the festival brings together artists from various disciplines: theatre, land art, dance, visual arts, performance, film, music, and interdisciplinary expressions.

The festival aims not only to gather outstanding artists but also to spotlight art that explores what exists on the margins of the established, the forgotten, the denied, and the invisible. Through site-specific works, cross-disciplinary projects, and unexpected encounters between art and audience, the Dikemark Festival invites reflection and experience of space, history, and human vulnerability.

The Dikemark Festival is not just a venue for art, but also a laboratory for experimentation and dialogue.

It brings together professional artists, local residents, former employees, and users, opening conversations between past and present, normality and otherness, body and place.

As a multidisciplinary festival, the Dikemark Festival aspires to be a powerful example of how art can activate a place — not only physically, but emotionally and socially.

We also seek to build bridges between genres and people, and to create spaces for wonder, participation, and transformation.
