DIKARAMORK

Dikaramork

Dikaramork is a sound walk/sound piece that takes into account the history and ecology of the place, considering both humans and non-humans, and presents various sonic realities and fantasies to wander through.

Poetic, factual, imaginative, groundbreaking (as Dikemark Hospital once was), everyday and difficult stories — along with a soundscape in constant transformation — create Dikemark. Brunborg Lie attempts to wander into its complex history and present.

To experience the walk, download the app Echoes.xyz. Headphones are recommended. You choose your own route and duration. The walk will continue to expand in the coming years. The sound piece has been created through extensive field recordings and conversations with residents, workers, and users of the Dikemark area.

Ase Brunborg Lie

Through their work, Ase Brunborg Lie explores how to create in our ongoing ecological crisis/era — engaging with the associated philosophical and ethical questions — and how to work toward more just possible futures. They highlight blind spots in social and built structures and propose alternatives to human exceptionalism. Central to their practice are site-specificity and cross-pollination, inspired by queer-feminist, postcolonial, scientific, and imaginative thought and action.

Projects often involve collaborators from creative and scientific fields as well as local communities. Lie works across a wide range of media, including participatory works, performance, sound, multimedia installations, bio art, sculpture, film, photography, and more.

Lie completed the post-master program Of Public Interest Lab at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. They hold an MA in Scenography from the Norwegian Theatre Academy (HIOF) and a BA from the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art (NTNU). They live and work in Oslo, Norway.
